Enjoy some summer sounds this season at KDL! People of all ages will enjoy Marimbamania!, a culturally-based musical performance presenting music and marimbas from around the world. Virtuoso marimbist David Hall brings 20 years of experience to this unique educational program. Musical selections are performed on authentic marimbas and vintage xylophones.  Audiences interact through singing, dancing, and rhythmic clapping.

Ada Lowell 5 Going Totally Digital

Ada Lowell 5 Going Totally Digital

It's been a process a long time in the making.  Ada Lowell 5 will be projecting all their movies via digital technology starting Tuesday.  Manager Marie Peterson said the installations are taking place starting today and going through Thursday.  All 5 theaters at the Ada Lowell 5 will be digital by Thursday.  The first movie to be shown in the new digital format will be Super 8 on Tuesday.  Peterson said that by the end of the year all Goodrich Quality Theaters will be 100% digital.

LOWELL, Mich. (WZZM) If you're looking for a fun way to lose weight this summer come out to the Riverwalk tonight.  Lowell Community Wellness is presenting Zumba on the River with Nikki Snyder.

The program is part of LCW's 100 miles in 100 Days to encourage Lowell area residents to get out and move for a healthier lifestyle.  The Zumba event is scheduled each Monday from 7:00pm - 8:00pm on the stage on the Riverwalk in Downtown Lowell.  Go to www.lowellcommunitywellness.org for more information.  The Zumba event is free.

Fun filled night in support of the arts in Lowell

The annual Art Attack fundraiser will party in support of the arts council and arts in the Lowell area. The event will be held at the Foreman Building at the fairgounds on June 17 fromo 6pm to 10 pm.

There will be silent and live auctions with items such as slate topped walnut and cherry wood end table by Bob Gronevelt/Riverwoods Furniture. Lowell Fusion Experience with Wendy Tenney and jazz pianist Bob Van Stee will provide the music. Fusion will present a 12 student performance with pop hits.

Lowell Sizzlin' Summer Concert Series kicks off next week

LOWELL, Mich. (WZZM) The Sizzlin Summer Concert Series kicks off the 2011 season next week on the Lowell Riverwalk.

The 126 Army Band is the first to perform on the Showboat. The band is currently under direction of Chief Warrant Officer Jon Montgomery. The 126 Army Band of the Michigan National Guard has been entertaining audiences for more than 100 years.  Concert-goers are encouraged to write a personal message to those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.  It's part of the "Love from Lowell" campaign.

Come explore new cultures with stories, songs and crafts that celebrate counting around the world. Activities include painting with water colors, hopscotch, bowling, a parachute game, and so much more!
