New interest in vacant building on Riverwalk Plaza

LOWELL, Mich.—A portion of the Riverwalk Plaza Building that’s remained vacant for nearly a decade may soon get a new tenant.

City Manager Mark Howe says the National Park Service is interested in leasing the north end of the old cable TV building for ten years.  The space would serve as offices for Park Service employees who are working on the North Country National Scenic Trail in Lowell.

The City of Lowell recently put together a proposed deal and sent it off to National Park Service administrators.  An official with the National Park Service says they plan to review the proposal sometime after Labor Day; Howe hopes to have an answer sometime in September.
