LOWELL, Mich. (WZZM) Lowell police are investigating a burglary Sunday at the First Baptist Church on Main Street in Lowell. Police Chief James Hinton tells WZZM 13 News the suspect broke into the church around 3:25pm Sunday afternoon and stole a tv and dvr.

Hinton says Grand Rapids Police are investigating similar incidents at other churches in the county. Authorities say the man came into the church holding a baby and asked for financial help.  Chief Hinton says during this time the suspect cased the church and found items he wanted to steal.

The suspect is described as a hispanic  man, 5'10" tall, 170 pounds with wavy black hair.  He has a tattoo on his right shoulder and acne scars on his face.

Meantime, Chief Hinton says they have no leads in the recent breaking and entering at the Dollar General on Main Street.  The person broke into the store a couple weeks ago and stole one electronic device.
