Lowell has a new City Council member. Rev. Chris Schwab was chosen by unanimous vote as a member of the Lowell City Council to fill the vacancy of Jim Valentine.

He has been minister at First Congregational Church in Lowell since May 2010. Prior to that, he was minister at Kapaa First Hawaiian Church for four years, as well as a counselor and program supervisor at Child and Family Service in Hawaii.

Rev. Schwab has a Masters in Social work from Loyola University of Chicago, a Masters of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary, and a Bachelors of Civil Engineering from Lehigh University.
