Cars for Kids Toy Drive/Car Show in Greenville

The Greenville Corvette Club and the Greenville Lions Club are sponsoring a day of fun for everyone. It is their Annual Cars for Kids Day, held at 9481 Jordan Rd. just south of Greenville at the Grattan Academy, on Sunday, September 13th from 10am to 2pm.

Entry fee is $10 or a new unwrapped toy of equal value. This show is open to all Show Cars, Trucks and Motorcycles.

Music will be provided by Gilbert Jewell of Midnights Music Machine and there will be food available through the Greenville Lions Club. 50/50 drawings will take place during this event along with Trivia Quiz and a Fan Belt Toss.

Trophies to the top 25 entries and Dash Plaques to the first 100 entries.

DeVos Place is Celebrating 10 Years with an Open House for Everyone

DeVos Place, West Michigan’s Premier Entertainment Destination in Grand Rapids, MI. is celebrating their 10th Anniversary with a celebration for everyone. This event takes place Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 10am – 5pm.

This event will feature a Ferris wheel, carousel, fun, family activities and games, prizes, mascots and much more! Parking will be free under the convention center (as space allows) during the event.

The first 10,000 people inside the doors will received a FREE hot dog and Pepsi. Entertainment will feature music and entertainment from bands, Jump with Jill, a magician and more. You might be the winner of one of the gift cards or concert tickets to be given away hourly.

From 10am – 5pm the Northeast Stage will present acts from Alysha Sha, Jump with Jill, Freehand GR, Gabriel Estrada III “ El Charro Del Norte”, Jeremy Verwys, Lefty Malone and The Diemakers.

The community is welcome to check out hundreds of hardy, local perennials ranging from 50 cents to $3.00 before & after the city parade. This year’s proceeds will go to the middle school & high school Robotics Club.

Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Returns on Saturday, May 9

49 million people face hunger every day, including 16,000 million children. The month of May is time for the Stamp Out Hunger Drive sponsored by the Postal Service.

You have a chance to make a difference for those in need & put smiles on faces this Saturday, May9! Place non-perishable food items in a bag or box by your mailbox for the letter carriers in your area to pick up, while they drop off your mail.

These food items will be sorted & delivered to area food banks or pantries for families less fortunate.

GRAAA offers Public Observing Night on Saturday

The Grand Rapids Amateur Astrological Association invite the public to experience the amazing night sky and see a close-up of craters on the moon, the rings around Saturn and other night sky objects through several large & fully equipped telescopes.

The month of May public observing nights are Saturday, May 9 & 30 from 9:30pm – 12:00am with an opportunity to see Venus, Jupiter, star clusters, galaxies & more. The spring – fall Schedule & what can be seen is pictured below.

Public Observing Night takes place at the James C. Veen Observatory located at 3308 Kissing Rock Ave. SE in Lowell Township brought to you by the Grand Rapids Amateur Astrological Association.

Note: The Parking area is at the bottom of a quarter mile uphill walk. Ask parking lot attendant about available assistance. Public Observing Nights take place only when skies are clear on Saturday evening.

GRAAA offers Public Observing Night on April 25

The Grand Rapids Ametuer Astronomical Association invites the public on designated evenings from spring through the fall to experience the skies above.  A close-up of craters on the moon, the rings around Saturn and other night sky objects are possible to be seen through several large & fully equipped telescopes.

The first public observation night for the spring season is Saturday, April 25 from 9:30pm – 12:00am. This is an opportunity to see Jupiter, the Quarter Moon, along with clusters. The Spring – Fall Schedule is pictured below. Cost is $3 for adults, $2 for kids, 17 & under, under 5 & GRPM Members are Free.
