Police searching for missing Lowell Twp. teen

LOWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Kent County deputies have ended their search for the night after a Lowell Township teenager left home on her own.

Leah Ann Drake, 15, walked away from her home on Lockewood Dr. SE around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Undersheriff Jon Hess says Drake left through a window in the home, and left behind a note.

Deputies searched for Drake in a wooded area near her home Tuesday but a dog team lost her scent, leaving investigators to believe she got into someone's car.

Drake is described as 5'3" and 115 lbs., and was wearing black and red braces.  She was last seen wearing a black short-sleeve shirt, a mint-green skirt, black shoes, and blue denim hat.  She was seen carrying a black bag.  Deputies say her hair is black and is now shorter than in the photo they have released.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Kent County Sheriff's Department at (616) 632-6100, or Silent Observer at (616) 774-2345.
