Meet the artists of 'Art That Speaks'

Sunday, January 16 from 2pm – 4pm

Meet the artists involved in a unique art exhibition at the Lowell Area Arts Council - King Gallery.  The exhibition features artwork that "use lettering (scratched, scrawled, painted or marked words and symbols) to visually enhance the two or three-dimensional artwork."

The artwork will be on display until February 2nd.

One of the choice networking opportunities the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce offers our businesses, churches, schools, municipalities and organizations is the Annual Lowell Community Expo.  Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce, Lowell Area Schools, and our exclusive business sponsor Lowell Ledger/Lowell Litho proudly present the 15th Annual Lowell Community Expo.  The Expo is held at Lowell High School, Saturday, March 26 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  This event is an excellent opportunity for the community to increase their awareness of the products and services provided and/or manufactured in the Greater Lowell Area.

Beanie and the Bamboozling Adventure Machine opens tomorrow

Beanie Boren is about to destroy the book machine, but a classmate fooling around with the machine has unleashed more troublemakers. Not only are the original fairytale characters (Robin Hood, Maid Marian, Snow White) released from their stories, but also villains like The Black Knight, Mordred and Morgan LaFey.

Grab the kids and go for a snowshoe hike at Wittenbach Wege Nature Center

Lowell, Twp. (WZZM) Got cabin fever? The only cure is to get out and enjoy nature! Join us for a day of snowshoeing! Never done it? Don’t sweat it. Guided snowshoe hikes through the forest will be available throughout the day on February 5th at the Wittenbach Wege Nature Center in Lowell Twp.   If you’re a seasoned pro, come out and hike the trails on your own. If you don't have your own snowshoes, they are available to rent for just $4 per person. Afterwards, warm up inside with some hot chocolate while you enjoy a Birds of Prey program at 2:00. Falconer Greg Brooks will give you the rare opportunity to see these majestic birds up-close.   The center will also have kid-friendly nature crafts available. This event is free and open to the public.

Wittenbach Wege Enviromental Center will turn Christmas trees into mulch

Lowell Twp., Mich. (WZZM) Christmas is over and soon people will start taking down their decorations.  Once again this year, Wittenbach Wege Enviromental Center is inviting people to drop off their live Christmas Trees. 

The center will shred the trees to use as mulch around the center. The WWC is asking residents not to bring anything with wire, like wreaths or garland. 

You can drop off your tree any time of day until January 9th.
