From: http://www.lowellschools.com

The USDA recently issued new school meal requirements that will be effective for the 2012-2013 school year. This means Lowell students will see changes next school year in the foods served at school. Chartwells School Dining Services manages the food service department at Lowell and has taken steps for a smooth transition to the new meal requirements. Here is an overview of what your student can expect to see in their school dining center based on these new requirements.

It's Back and Better Then Ever!

LOWELL MI, Jun 04, 2012 - Lowell Community Wellness Pink Arrow Project Intiative and Nikki Snyder of Energized | Inspired | Fitness are at it again. Together they are teaming up to bring the Lowell community fun, FREE fitness for everyone.

This year they are upping the ante and adding WERQ dance.fitness.workout to the fun! Each Monday, starting June 4th at 7pm, they will offer 30 minutes of Zumba followed by 30 minutes of WERQ. Just like last year this will be FREE all summer long to the whole community.

Zumba Fitness combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow the Zumba participants to dance away their worries. It is based on the principle that a workout should be 'FUN AND EASY TO DO' in order for Zumba participants to stick to the Zumba fitness program to achieve long-term health benefits. Zumba is not only great for the body, but it is also great for the mind. It is a 'feel happy' workout.

Relay for Life Lowell 2012

Date June 22-23

Time 12:00pm   Lowell High School

Although every Relay For Life is different, there are certain traditions shared by all Relays, no matter where they are held. These traditions help us celebrate, remember, and fight back.

Celebrate - The Survivors Lap
The Survivors Lap is an inspirational time when survivors are invited to circle the track together and help everyone celebrate the victories we’ve achieved over cancer. The Survivors Lap is an emotional example of how Relay participants are creating a world with more birthdays like those of each individual on the track.

Remember - The Luminaria Ceremony
We honor people who have been touched by cancer and remember loved ones lost to the disease during the Luminaria Ceremony.
